Sintered stone is a synthetic surfacing material made entirely of minerals and formed by extreme heat. Unlike engineered stone quartz worktops, which use resins as binders, sintered stone contains no binders. The materials are heated to such a high temperature and pressed that the minerals fuse, essentially becoming their own binder.
Sintered stones are the latest product available for the "solid surface" industry. Althought they are still a long way off competing with the market share in relation to Quartz worktops, Its popularty continues to grow year on year. Sintered stone are commonly refered to as Ceramic or Porcelain worktops, The main suppliers are Neolith, Dekton and Atlas plan.
